About me
Tu-Linh Doan is an Amsterdam-based artist with a background in graphic design. Her paintings express an emotional quest for balance, harmony, continuity, and connection in a world where such things often feel unattainable. Through meticulous explorations of colour and composition, hand-made frames, and unexpected imperfections, she decides where to seize control and where to let go.
Tu-Linh’s most recent work sheds excess in its minimalism and explores the unknown and uncertainty. The circles are blown up and only partially on the canvas; the rest remains unseen, missing, lost. The increasing presence of black overlap reflects recent darkness and fear. But is she still grasping at continuity? Is she hopeful? “We’re not going anywhere” lets the viewer decide whether we’re headed for a bleak future, or standing our ground and fighting.
